This post shares a selected section from our wider Ordu Street lighting project, which extends along the corridor from Aksaray to Beyazıt and covers multiple historic sites and public spaces.
Since the overall scope is quite large, we will be publishing the project as a series of site-specific selections, rather than a single, combined post. The Istanbul University Central Library is one of those selected fragments — a small but representative part of the broader urban axis.
In this section, our aim was to:
create a comfortable lighting atmosphere without disturbing the pedestrian experience,
enhance spatial perception while respecting the historic fabric,
maintain continuity and balance within the overall corridor concept.
